In light of recent comments and questions from families, Aloha Micro Academy would like to provide transparent clarification regarding financial aid and scholarship procedures.
Aloha Micro Academy was founded in 2018 with a mission to provide high-quality, personalized education to students across the U.S. For the first several years, I personally funded every aspect of the school — no fees were ever collected from families until Winter 2023, and those fees were solely for tutoring services.
Every dollar collected went directly back into supporting students — purchasing curriculum, supplies, and resources needed for enrolled families. This was never about profit, but rather about sustainability.
As the school grew, we began hiring qualified staff, expanding curriculum offerings, and developing advanced student services, including special education, dual enrollment, and career pathways. Collecting tuition and program fees became necessary to maintain these opportunities and ensure the long-term stability of Aloha Micro Academy.
It's important to clarify that the decision to collect tuition was not related to accreditation, but rather to responsibly manage growth, retain dedicated educators, and continue providing exceptional learning experiences for all Aloha students.
