The Aloha Independent Study Program is a flexible, accredited educational pathway designed for families who want to take an active role in their child’s learning—while still receiving professional academic support, standards-based curriculum, and school accountability.

Program Overview

Aloha Independent Study allows students to learn at their own pace and on their own schedule, guided by certified teachers and aligned to state standards. Families select from our approved curriculum partners—including Pearson, Savvas, n2y, and Zaner-Bloser—with the freedom to customize lessons and experiences to reflect each child’s strengths, needs, and interests.

This program is ideal for:

Families who prefer a home-based or hybrid learning model
Students needing schedule flexibility for travel, health, or personal pursuits
Learners seeking personalized pacing or advanced/gifted opportunities
Families enrolled through state-funded education accounts (ESA, EFA, UFA, etc.)

How It Works

Parent-Led with Teacher Support: Parents serve as the primary learning coach, with ongoing support from Aloha’s credentialed educators for pacing, assessments, and academic goals.
Curriculum Flexibility: Choose from a range of academic and elective courses—core subjects, world languages, career readiness, arts, and more.
Accountability and Guidance: Families meet regularly with an Aloha Academic Advisor to review progress, attendance, and learning evidence for state or program compliance.
Optional Live Classes: Students can join Aloha Virtual Academy’s live classes, tutoring, clubs, or enrichment sessions for social and academic connection.
